About Me
Who is RM7?
My name is Riccardo Morini and the first two letters of RM7 are my initials while the number comes from my date of birth, January 7th. I bought the bike a few years after getting my car licence, since then I’ve never let go of it despite my deserved and unfortunate accidents over the years. Precisely because of these I had to stop my 2005 Hornet several times, which like me has always been patched up. Now it has been completely refurbished to embark on a new adventure together. In addition to the motorcycle, I have many other sporting and non-sporting passions. Some of the sports ones are swimming, waterbasket, surfing, freediving, skiing and snowboarding while among the non-sports ones I cannot fail to mention programming in general which, in addition to being a passion, has been my lifelong profession.
My story on a motorbike
My bike is a naked because as a first bike to start with I wanted a fast bike but taking a super sports bike seemed too risky a move, and in retrospect I can say with certainty that it would have been a clear attempt on my life. The first few years I ran on the street, sometimes as if it were a real track, fortunately a few disastrous falls soon made me realize that I didn’t want to play in Shanghai with my femur or shoulder blade. I want to be honest, I’m not yet a motorcyclist who goes slowly and respecting the speed limits seems “complicated” to me, but as I’m passionate about motorcycle travel, I’ve stopped looking for speed; anyway having said that if someone wants to invite me to ride in a circuit for free don’t be scrupulous :-) . I started going on a few motorcycle holidays with friends and taking part in a few motorcycle rallies and then eventually went on a solo vacation with the motorcycle and the tent. At the moment my longest journey has been a 6300km tour through France, Portugal and Spain. On this trip, apart from a few days booked in Ericeira (Portugal), I hadn’t fixed anything and I lived day by day without previously planned precise destinations. From that vacation a dream that I had had for a long time before but to which I didn’t give concrete weight was definitively unlocked. I have mostly always driven on paved roads but I think it will be a lot of fun to learn a new style of driving.
